God created every individual with unique talents, gifts, and abilities. Some of us are athletic, some can sing, some are artistic. There are many giftings in the body of Christ and God has a plan for each gift He has given. The goal of this event is to “empower” students to develop these talents in a competitive and fun environment with tournaments and judged competition and worship services focused toward demonstrating and speaking about how our gifts can be used and what the Bible says about God’s plan for our lives.

Every March, 350+ students of the Joplin District Church of the Nazarene (southwest Missouri and southeast Kansas) gather for Empower, competing in sports tournaments and fine arts competitions. Winners and all-star performers are selected to compete at a regional competition called M.A.X. in Olathe, Kansas. Empower is for students in 6th-12th grade and costs $10/student.

Had an awesome time with our group of 45 in Independence, KS, this year! Stay tuned for more information regarding the 2015 event.
